A prophetic activation is a great way to activate the giftings in your children and lead them into an encounter with Jesus. A prophetic activation is an exercise where you simply practice to develop in the skill of hearing God’s voice for you or someone else.
"If you, imperfect as you are, know how to lovingly take care of your children and give them what’s best, how much more ready is your heavenly Father to give wonderful gifts to those who ask him?” Matthew 7:11 TPT
Jesus Loves to Give Gifts!
Today's prophetic activation is a simple one and the first one I ever led my children through when they were 10, 8 6, and 4. We know that the scripture says that our Heavenly Father gives wonderful gifts to those who ask in Matthew 7:11. It's great to get your kids to sit down on the floor together. It might help to have instrumental worship music in the background. It's not necessary, but I found this helped my kids and created a peaceful atmosphere. I simply just said, "We're going to encounter Jesus today. He has a special gift just for you!" Then read Matthew 7:11 together and shared with them how the Father and Jesus gives us wonderful gifts. Ask everyone to close their eyes and just like if you asked them to picture a red apple or a green frog, a mental picture comes up in their mind, that is the same way, through our imagination in our mind, we can see what God reveals to us (Ephesians 1:18). It may help to have them practice seeing a picture or two to show them how simple it is. Remember, we don't need to complicate it with kids. The simpler you can make it, the better.
Once they understand how easy it is to see with their imagination, lead them into an encounter with Jesus. It can go something like this, "I want you to close your eyes and I will too. Right now, I see Jesus. Can you picture Jesus in your mind? He is standing right there and has a very special present for you. What does your present look like? How big is the box or bag? What colors are they? Once you see the gift, I want you to look at Jesus and see how happy He is to give you this special gift, just for you! Now, with your eyes still closed, I want you to open the gift box or bag. What do you see? What present is inside the gift box?" At this point, let them share with you what they see. As they describe what they see. Ask them to ask Jesus what that gift represents or why He gave them that gift. My kids will usually get a feeling of love or hear a simple word in their spirit like the gift represents "power or faith or love". If your kids love to draw or color, I have paper and colors ready so my kids can draw what they see and can keep it to remember what the Lord showed them.
I found with my kids, some could see easier and quicker than others and that's okay. There's no pressure. We keep it light and easy. Use discernment and ask the Lord to help you see what they see so you can help them. Every child is different and unique so always ask Holy Spirit to help you. He will lead you every time!
